The International Conference on Semiconductor Mid-IR Materials and Optics SMMO brings together material scientists, device physicists, application engineers and end users working in the rapidly advancing area of mid-infrared (Mid-IR) optoelectronics. The SMMO conference provides a unique forum to discuss material issues and topics important for the realization of semiconductor emitters and detectors as well as their application to production and environmental control, medical diagnostics and security. This year the conference is extended to cover also THz optoelectronics.

Topics
- Physics and technology of novel semiconductor Mid-IR materials
- Intersubband transport and optics
- Mid-IR intersubband and interband lasers
- Mid-IR detectors and arrays
- Terahertz materials and devices
- Characterisation of Mid-IR materials and devices
- Thermal management and packaging technology
- Applications of Mid-IR and THz optoelectronics
